Lyrics and Credits:

May the Buffalo Roam
I saw a buffalo with a snow goatee
From chewin’ on frosty grass
The sky was blue like a summer dream
When a yellow cloud rolled passed
I’m keepin’ my eyes wide open
From Dakota to my Tennessee home
May the fox dance, may the Buffalo roam
Long may the buffalo roam
Long may the buffalo roam
Long may the buffalo roam
May the fox dance, may the buffalo roam
I’ve known great adventure, and real good times
North, south, east and west
Smoked a peace pipe with many a tribe
Won’t say which I like the best
Most days I wander in the woods
Solitary but never alone
May the squirrel fly, may the buffalo roam
Long may the buffalo roam
Long may the buffalo roam
Long may the buffalo roam
May the squirrel fly
May the Red Wolf and the California Condor survive
It’s a good day to die, it’s a better day to be alive
Hey oh, hey oh, hey oh, hey, hey hey hey oh
Long may the buffalo roam…
May the fox dance
May the squirrel fly high
May the Buffalo roam
Hey oh, hey oh…

Still Here, Still There
Is that a photo from your wedding?
Or is it from the funeral?
Sometimes I want to fix the past somehow
Feels like this world is getting
Gloomier than usual
I would appreciate a wicked joke right now
Life can be unfair
I am sincere
I truly care
Love is everywhere
I am still here
And you’re still there
Did you hear from your attorney?
You never did do one thing wrong
Sometimes we play the game to no avail
Too brave to quit the journey
Been workin’ on a new song
Hotcake likes it, she was tapping her tail
Life can be unfair…
The most courageous seekers have more questions than answers
Proud religion makes a fool feel wise
A faithful friend is one of this life’s greatest enhancers
But you don’t need unsolicited advice
Life can be unfair…
I am still here to stay

Divine Intervention
I was ridin’ my 10 speed down Avenida de La Merced
When I witnessed a happening I never will forget
It was late fall in Southern California, still sunny, yeah
A pretty girl was ridin’ in the back of a Datsun truck
She was standin’ up against the cab pressin’ her luck
And what occurred became sublime
But in that frame of time it was not funny, no
She was wearin’ a yellow halter top and cut off jeans
It was 1973, I was just 13
Some reckless drivin’ surfer lookin’ dude hit a bump
And she went flyin’, yeah
There was an old lady rakin’ a pile of Japanese Maple leaves
And that’s where she landed, I know it’s hard to believe
But I think you will agree that it was not meant to be
Her day for dyin’
Was it divine intervention of happenstance?
Her guardian angel to the rescue or just by chance?
I thought it was a miracle how she got saved, anyway
She cried a little, then smiled at me and waved
Sometimes people like to say,“There’s a reason for everything”
Well, I think that’s damn insensitive when someone’s suffering
We all wander in the dark
Hey, I don’t mean to spark a controversy, no
It was fifty years ago, I hope that girl is still ok
Are we makers of our destinies or in the hands of fate?
I believe one thing is true
I’m still on that avenue of mercy, yeah
Was it divine intervention or happenstance?
Her guardian angel to the rescue or just by chance?
I thought it was a miracle how she got saved, either way
She cried a little, then smiled at me
She cried a little, then smiled at me
She cried just a little, then she smiled at me and waved

Whatever Train
Sometimes I want to go back
To the wondrous Yukatan
Venture once again with you
Through the Amazon
I’m ok right here in Pittsburgh
But if you ever wanna get gone
I’ll be riding on whatever train you’re on
I’ll be riding on that train
I’ll be riding on that train
I’ll be riding on whatever train you’re on
If the whistle blows at sundown
If the whistle blows at dawn
I’ll drive us to the station
If you’re goin’ I’m goin’ along
I’m ok right here in Pittsburgh
But if you ever need to get gone
I’ll be riding on whatever train you’re on
I’ll be riding on that train
I’ll be riding on that train
I’ll be riding on whatever train you’re on
Life is honey and butter
‘Til it’s harder than rock
You just plugged in the toaster
And you got your sweet ass shocked
I’m fine livin’ in Steele City
But if you wanna sing a new song
I’ll be riding on whatever train you’re on
I’ll be riding on that train…

Just Who
Your spirit is undaunted
Your heart won’t be denied
You break the rusty shackles
In the dungeon of my mind
The dungeon of my guilty mind
And the thing that I love most about you is just you
It’s less about what and more about who
The thing that I love most about you is just you
It’s less about what and more about who
Just who are you?
Just who?
You sparkle like the sunshine
That liquifies the snow
That flows into the river and floods
The desert of my soul
The desert of my thirsty soul
The thing that I love most about you is just you…
You liberate small spiders
Unseemly to the eyes
Of killers with shameless disregard
For the sanctity of life
The sanctity of wondrous life
And the thing that I love most about you is just you…

Wings On Fire
You said that angels are alien adjacent
I think that’s clever and more than likely true
Reveal your wicked mind I think the crowd can take it
Coming from a phoenix like you
Go on, testify, dare to share your story
I know you’re reticent to be misunderstood
Your truth will never fade away with the glory
You’re gonna do a lot of hearts a lot of good
You’re flyin’ free over smoke and debris
A song bird with wings on fire
Ridin’ on the wind
Sure to ascend
With wings on fire
Rise above unsolicited opinions
An extraterrestrial might share your point of view
Drift Into a land where dreams untethered have dominion
And colorful feathers aflame carry you
You’re flyin’ free over smoke and debris…
Up from the embers of a world in pain
Born again to soar and to sing
Blessed under heaven by merciful rain
Falling on smoldering wings
You’re flyin’ free over smoke and debris…

What Goes Around
We don’t see eye to eye
We won’t hear wire to wire
But you’ll throw me a line if I fall
Face down in the mire
Last night I got so mad
Enough to feel inclined
To conjure up some paragraph
To hurt you with my mind
But in the end I didn’t hit “send”
And you’re my friend, so nevermind
So much angry noise
It serves nobody at all
No, I won’t drink that poison
Not gonna swallow the vitriol
But you’re no stranger
So go on and bang your
Head against my wall
What goes around comes around
Around the sun we spin
Drop the feather in the river
Give your heart to the wind
Everything comes back to you
What goes up must come down
Show me something beautiful
What goes around comes around
Paint me a picture of real life adventure
Roses in the garden, lovers under stars
And blood on the thorns
Form me a sculpture, an angel or a vulture
‘Cause more than anything
I want to flap my wings
And to be reborn
What goes around comes around…

Let it Burn
Some hearts dance in wonderment
With fireflies in a jar
Some souls are soothed by sweet vibrations
Of a guitar
Dreamin’ girls and schemin’ boys
We get our thrills, we’ve got our toys
Don’t kill my joy, don’t kill my joy
Please don’t blow my candle out
Let it burn, baby, let it burn
Please don’t blow my candle out
If you love me, let it burn
Let it burn, baby, let it burn
Mockingbirds may plagiarize
But they sing from their hearts
And when you throw paint on the wall
WelI, I know that’s art
Light the torch, ignite the coals
Set a fire when your hands are cold
Caress my soul, caress my soul
Please don’t blow my candle out
Let it burn, baby, let it burn
Please don’t blow my candle out
If you love me, let it burn
Let it burn, baby, let it burn
You and I are wandering down
Shadowy corridors
Follow the fire light in my eyes
And I will follow yours
Please don’t blow my candle out…

The Greening
Leaves of autumn feed the earth
Red trillium emerging
A night of death, a day of birth
A hummingbird returning
Children brave enough to seek
Soon learn this world is dying
A worm is in a robin’s beak
A swallowtail is flying
The greening, the greening
The planet turns to face the sun
The greening, the greening
Embrace what has begun
God may never intervene
Go on, dare to think it
Melting snow, a gentle stream
Cup your hands and drink it
Every instant, all the years
We’re living so we’re feeling
Let the warm breeze dry your tears
Let your heart be healing
The greening, the greening…
Through the dark night we have journeyed
Right now this world is a magical place
I know you feel how I’m feeling
The sunlight is illuminating your beautiful face
The Greening…

Reach For the Sky
You heard that morning bell
So lift your splendid self
Right on out
Outa your lazy bed
This moment is the time
To drag your vivid mind right on out
Of your hazy head
Reach for the sky when you’re wondering why
Let the rain come down
Open your heart when you’re lost in the dark
Love is here right now
Everything yet undone
Is mostly imagination
Reach for the sky when you’re wondering why
Let the rain come down
Into your seeking eyes
Filtered sun will shine
Silver light streaming through the Dogwood trees
The wind will have it’s way
Come and go what may, dear friend, I wish your
Spirit peace
Reach for the sky when you’re wondering why…
Love is here
(Open your heart)
Love is here
(Lift your hands to the sky)
Love is here
(Open your heart)
Reach for the sky when you’re wondering why…
