Here's information about the artist who created it.
R.R. Lyon is a visual artist from New Orleans.  Lyon explores the possibilities of re-contextualizing images in order to salvage or reclaim them for a new purpose.  Over time Lyon collects unused images and ideas or "failures" in several boxes in his studio. When the boxes are full he begins to takes these elements and put them into a new context and creates a painting or sculpture made up of things that missed the mark the first time around.
Redemption and reclamation.  Mercy indeed.
